Have you ever been able to name a city park?? Well, here’s your chance! The Downtown West Community Association is working in collaboration with the City of Calgary to bring you the latest temporary green space in our neighbourhood and we need your help!
Nestled within our community, we are working hard to convert a previously barren patch of land next to the monestary into a park for use by the community. It will soon host benches and a fenced in area for our furry friends to run around. In the future, it may even be a great way to connect onto the Riverwalk pathway.
But, every park needs a name and we need you to get creative!
- Do you know someone who contributed in a big way to the west side of downtown and want their legacy to live on?
- Are you privy to a unique piece of history in our area that could be highlighted?
- Want to just have a quirky name that makes you LOL as you go by?
Simply send us your suggestions via Twitter or Instagram! We want to encourage others to weigh in too so use the hashtag #dwcapark on social media and the DWCA will pick out the top suggestions. We will be accepting ideas until Dec 8, so stay tuned!
