Meeting Location: DWCA Bowforth Park 1021 4 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0K8 (Park behind Avatamsaka Monastery)

What to Bring: Water, snack, sunscreen, walking shoes, binoculars, camera/smartphone, inquisitive questions

Smartphone App: Make sure to download the iNaturalist app from Google Play or Apple App store and have a working camera on your mobile phone. The app is free.

Join urban ecologist and citizen science coordinator Matt Wallace for a nature walk and tour along the Bow River and around Prince’s Island Park. Learn about Calgary’s urban natural environment and some of the flora and fauna that inhabit the inner city. This walk will also introduce to you the iNaturalist app and how you can contribute valuable information as a “citizen scientist” to help researchers study biodiversity.
