Stampede Parade Event

A joint venture between the Community Association and Attainable Homes Calgary, was planned for the morning of the Stampede Parade and took place in the parking lot adjacent to the Attainable Homes offices on 6th Avenue.  Of course, the parade passes right by and so provided participants with a bird’s eye view of the festivities that unfortunately, did not include a good view of William and Kate as they were whisked by in their limo! The goal of the event was to provide an exciting AHCC & DWCA themed space in which to enjoy the Stampede Parade with friends and family in a community-minded atmosphere.  Invitations were sent out to all local community businesses to attend and enjoy a complimentary “Sheriff’s Breakfast”.  Brochures and information on the AHCC home ownership program were provided as well as bandanas and treats at the Welcome Table, with the objective of getting interested parties to view the show suite.  The DWCA wanted to provide information about the Community Association, thereby encouraging participation and membership.  It was a warm but very windy day that periodically saw an assortment of corn chips, balloons and paper plates flying through the air as wind gusts threatened to pick up anything that wasn’t securely tied down!

There were several businesses who participated by way of donation of goods, services and $’s and we would like to express our appreciation once again by mentioning their names here:

    • Clean Team Property Services Ltd.
      • Manu Chugh Architect
      • Nellie’s Break the Fast Restaurant
      • Safeway
      • Unique Floral
      • Tim Horton’s
      • McDonald’s

A great time was had by all volunteers and participants in this event and the plan is to do it all again next year. Hope to see you there!
